The Butterfly Cancer Care Program began in 2013 with a mission to provide diagnostic and treatment support for children with cancer in Kerala. Expanding beyond medical care, we introduced the Butterfly Educational Scholarship in 2014 to support the continued education of children after treatment. In 2018, we launched Yuvathi, a Women Empowerment Initiative supporting lone mothers and young widows. To reduce the financial burden of cancer care, Prarthana, an Affordable Cancer Medicine Pharmacy, was established in Kochi in 2020 as the dream project of Mr. T. A. Joseph, Managing and Founding Director of Confident group.

Our outreach expanded further in 2021 with the Blue Butterfly Program, in collaboration with Muthoot Fincorp, to support patients in rural areas. Recognizing the importance of emotional well-being, we introduced Manas, a Mental Health Support Program, in 2022. In 2023, we partnered with Yuvraj Singh to launch the YouWeCan Educational Scholarship Program, and also initiated Dhyan Care, a pediatric leukemia support program in memory of Master Dhyan.

In 2024, we launched the Chrysalis Program for Education & Treatment in collaboration with Epicenter, USA. In 2026, Butterfly achieved a major milestone in its journey to lead an international cancer-care program, C/CAN-Kochi together with all major cancer charity organizations and hospitals, government bodies in the city, in association with City-Cancer Challenge (C-CAN) organization, Geneva, Switzerland, with an objective of ‘Equitable Quality Cancer Care for All’.

Our journey through the life of our first Butterfly, Master: Noshin Joby.

Butterfly Cancer Care Foundation began at a chemotherapy bedside in 2013 at Amrita Hospital, beside a young boy, Master Noushin. He often faced treatment alone, while his parents worked as daily-wage earners to afford medicines and food. That moment deeply moved us and became the spark that gave birth to the Butterfly Foundation.

We walked with Noushin through his battle, helped him return to school, and today we watch with pride as he thrives in college. He plays music, fills our hearts with joy, and never misses a chance to visit us—always with love and gratitude. He is our true hero (Noushin performing at 2023 Butterfly Fellow Meet 2023).

At Butterfly Cancer Care Foundation, we nurture and protect every cocoon so it can transform into a beautiful butterfly that brings joy to the world. Noushin’s story is the story of 1,000+ children whose lives have been touched by this journey (Noushin with Dr. Manzoor at Butterfly 10th Anniversary Meet in 2024).
